DEACONS MINISTRY
I Timothy 3:8-10
PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose for the Deacon Ministry is to tend to the practical needs of the congregation of the Christ Disciples Baptist Church with spiritual insight and wisdom. The deacons create and maintain an atmosphere of love, peace, and unity amongst the congregation, to facilitate a devout, loving community of followers of Christ. They are able to teach, lead and guide others to discipleship and an intimate walk with God.
TRUSTEES MINISTRY
Acts 6:1-8
PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose for the Trustees Ministry is to safeguard and tend to the practical needs of the Christ Disciples Baptist Church with spiritual insight and wisdom. The Trustees manage and faithfully steward the resources God provides to this devout, loving community of followers of Christ.

WORSHIP MINISTRY

PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose of the Worship Ministry is to lead the congregation in devotion inviting the Holy Spirit to facilitate worship.
COMMUNICATION MINISTRY
Philippians 1:27
PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose for the Communication Ministry is to effectively communicate the vision, charted course, and pertinent developments of the Christ Disciples Baptist Church. The Communication Ministry manages and faithfully stewards the flow of information impacting this devout, loving community of followers of Christ.
NEW MEMBERS MINISTRY
I Peter 2:2
PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose of the New Members Ministry Group is to welcome new members into the Body of Christ and membership in the Christ Disciples Baptist Church family. The focus of the New Members Ministry will be to make disciples by establishing a sure spiritual foundation through core teachings of the Christian Faith, helping them to understand their spiritual capacities through gift assessments and helping them to become a reproducing member of the Christian Community through Life Transformation Groups. The focus of the New Members Ministry is ultimately to “move people from sin to faith, and from faith to following God.”
YOUTH MINISTRY
I John 2:13-14
PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose of the Youth Ministry is to make disciples and provide spiritual, soulical and physical encouragement and enrichment to the members of Christ Disciples Baptist Church between the ages of 13 and 18 years of age, through fellowship. The vision of the Youth Ministry is to embrace all youth of CDBC and provide a holistic ministry that builds upon Faith, Fellowship and Fun, while addressing their personal, educational and social needs.
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

PURPOSE/VISION
The Purpose of the Children Ministry is to disciple all children of CDBC ages 3 to 12 by providing a ho-listic program that will introduce them to the Christian Faith, build a firm foundation from which to devel-op spiritually. and allow them to opportunity to exercise their within the services of the CDBC., teach and instill the word and ways of God to the children as they embark on their spiritual journey/growth.
A FEW GOOD MEN MINISTRY
Psalm 37:23
PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose of A Few Good Men Ministry is to make disciples and provide spiritual, soulical and physical encouragement and enrichment to the males of Christ Disciples Baptist Church through the fellowship of the brethren.
The vision of A Few Good Men is to facilitate an intentional bond from the oldest man to the youngest boy by maintaining an atmosphere of love, peace and unity. It is also our hope to encourage Believers and non-Believers alike to trust in and follow Christ through the fellowship of the brethren.
WOMAN TO WOMAN MINISTRY
Titus 2:2-5
PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose for the Woman to Woman Ministry (WTW) is to create and maintain activities and/or events that will make disciples and enhance and promote the holistic development of the women, young ladies and girls of the Christ Disciples Baptist Church. The WTW will also endeavor to create an atmosphere that will teach our women, of all ages, to mature into devout followers of Christ, able to teach, lead and guide other women of all ages to discipleship and a closer, more intimate walk with God.
INTERCESSORY PRAYER MINISTRY

To allow the ministry to intercede through prayer on behalf of others.
VISITATION MINISTRY
Romans 12:13, James 1:27
PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose for the Visitation Ministry is minister to the tangible needs and communicate God’s love and fellowship for those unable to physically attend the gathering of the Christ Disciples Baptist Church family. The Visitation Ministry purposefully builds an inclusive and welcoming community to actively engage those displaced or separated from the gathering.
WILLING WORKERS MINISTRY
I Corinthians 12:28
PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose for the Willing Workers Ministry is to address the practical needs of the ministry of Christ Disciples Baptist Church on an as needed basis with willing participants from the congregation. The Willing Workers maintain an atmosphere of service in love, peace and unity amongst the congregation to facilitate a devout, loving community of followers of Christ, aiding and ministering to the needs of one another.
HUMAN RESOURCES MINISTRY
Acts 4:34-35
PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose for the Human Resources Ministry is to glorify God and communicate His love for the world by addressing the practical needs of those within our sphere of influence, in and outside of the Christ Disciples Baptist Church family. The Human Resources Ministry strategically identifies, comes alongside, serves and ministers to the emergent needs of humanity with love, meekness, peace and unity to tangibly communicate the love of God to all His creation.
HOSPITALITY MINISTRY
Romans 12:10-13
PURPOSE/VISION
The purpose for the Hospitality Ministry is to address the practical needs of the ministry of Christ Disciples Baptist Church through fellowship. The Hospitality ministry greets, serves and ministers to the emergent needs of the congregation with love, gentleness, peace and unity to facilitate a devout, loving community of followers of Christ, aiding and ministering to the needs of one another.
CRAFTING MINISTRY
Proverbs 31:19-20 (New Living Translation)
“Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber. She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy.”
PURPOSE/VISION
Create tangible items that meet a physical need.
The Crafting Ministry was born from A “Giving Project” of the Women2Women Ministry of the Christ Disciples Baptist Church of Chicago Inc., that started in 2017 with women having a desire to learn knitting and or crocheting to make items to give to the homeless and less fortunate. In 2019, the Human Resource Ministry of Christ Disciples Baptist Church of Chicago, Illinois, Inc., was birthed, and The Crafting Ministry, as well as other human resource sub-ministries, was placed under the HR Ministry.
Below is a list of the projects completed and items donated so far during the 2019/2020:
AUGUST 2019
Knit knockers 25 sets (50 total) – given to Judy Florey of Wisconsin who delivered to Gilda’s Club at hospital. (Knit knockers are crocheted “prosthetic” breasts made of cotton yarn that can be worn under the clothes to give the appearance of breasts when a woman has had a mastectomy)
OCTOBER 2019
Pretty in Pink. Donated a dozen (pink) curly scarves to each of the following hospital cancer units: A total of 72 crocheted scarves.

NOVEMBER 2019
Fall Hat and Coat Drive and outreach project.
⋅ Pioneer House (Homeless Shelter) Served residents a sit-down dinner on Thanksgiving Day
⋅ Tent city – Took coats, hats, scarves and bags of personal items to the homeless and passed them out to those that were interested in the items
⋅ Franciscan House – distributed personal items in bags (men) and purses (women) to the homeless at this shelter and passed out coats, jackets, hats, scarves, socks and gloves until we ran out of items of which were many. The hats and scarves were crocheted by the ministry, while the other items were purchased and /or donated by members of the ministry.

⋅ Audi Home- 21 bags – 6 male, 6 females and 9 children
⋅ Gail Pierson’s resident- 5 men, 4 women- (hat, gloves, and scarves)

Little Hat Big Hearts:
Eighty-Four (84) red crocheted hats for preemie babies born in the month of February.
